Founded in 2006 by Dougie Blaxland, Live Wire Theatre Productions is committed to producing innovative theatre involving new writing and fresh adaptations of classical works. The company has received prestigious nominations and awards for its work which has been staged across the United Kingdom.

Having enjoyed great critical acclaim for The Bronte Season which it co-produced  in 2014/15 with Butterfly Psyche the company  secured funding from the Arts Council England for a six week tour of Hands Up for Jonny Wilkinson’s Right Boot by Dougie Blaxland which toured venues across the UK to rave reviews during the Rugby World Cup 2015 in September & October 2015.

With support of the Rugby Football Union England the company will be reviving the production of Hands Up for Jonny Wilkinson’s Right Boot to coincide with the World Under 20 Rugby World Cup to be held in Manchester in June 2016.

Live Wire Theatre is now working with The Professional Cricketer’s Association on a new play called when The Eye Has Gone. This new piece by Dougie Blaxland tells the tragic story of, Northants and England batsman, Colin Milburn. The play will be touring venues throughout the UK in November 2016.
